~Dining~
San Luis Obispo "SLO" is a tourist towne. There are two things to know: plenty of good food, and since we're small, places often close at 9pm.
Big Sky Cafe, which regularly wins 'Best Restaurant of the Year in SLO', offers a variety of delicious, unique selections, many of which are vegetarian. It's located in beautiful downtown SLO. If there is a line for Big Sky, the Natural Cafe is just down the street and also has vegetarian and vegan selections
Novo is another excellent downtown restaurant. It is a little pricy and features a lovely creekside patio. The food is fantastic.
The famous Madonna Inn offers the Gold Rush Steakhouse Restaurant. Visiting the Madonna Inn can be quite a memorable experience. Pardon the odd suggestion, but be sure to visit the restrooms.
A good local steakhouse is F. McLintocks. It's casual dining and has a small creekside patio.
For lunch, Oprah liked the chicken curry sandwich at Art Cafe so much she invested in the restaurant, located in the historic SLO Creamery (yes, we used to have many dairies in towne).
