VictoryGrower

Gallery

The Gallery section features gardening and food conservation posters and photographs of both historical and contemporary interest.   Unless otherwise stated, the images are not copyright protected. Many of the historical images - particularly the posters and photographs - are available from the Library of Congress website.  Many can be downloaded free-of-charge in .jpeg format.  You may also purchase high-quality reproductions of the posters from this site:

Many of the posters and images on this Gallery date from World War I, which is VictoryGrower's area of expertise. To provide a better understanding of the origin and use of these posters, please refer to the following document about World War I Poster Art.  While VictoryGrower invites you to use this document in your activities, please be sure to credit the website.

An interesting and incredibly informative commercial site for war gardening posters and graphics is located at www.miscman.com  Miscman sells only originals; no reproductions are available at this site.

E-Bay has become a popular place to purchase war gardening posters and reproductions.  Buyer beware: quality varies widely, reproductions are sometimes sold as "originals," and you can't be certain what you'll get.
