Volunteer opportunities can include:
Data gathering for scientific research, invasive species monitoring and removal, habitat restoration, interpretive outreach, or program material development.
"When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect." -Aldo Leopold
Train the Trainer Format
The program is being developed as a package that can be implemented by partner organizations as well as UCCE personnel. Organization staff will receive training, curriculum, promotional material, program management guidelines, assessment tools, and web support.
The Value of Volunteers
Well trained volunteers can do a wide range of tasks to support professional naturalists, scientists and land managers. Their participation and active engagement as citizen scientist or nature reserve docents can lead to increased environmental awareness and literacy.
