Food Safety

Ensuring the safety of our food supply is one of our most critical issues. Learn about food safety across the “field to fork” continuum including production, post-harvest handling and consumer education. Discuss implications for ANR.

In addition to providing an overview of the issues, areas in the ANR continuum where collaboration on microbial food safety has been working well and where it can be improved will be highlighted.  Barriers to collaboration and cooperation will be discussed.

Desired Outcomes

1.  Attendees will gain a greater understanding of food safety issues facing California

2.  Attendees will gain an increase in knowledge of food safety

3.  Attendees will gain ideas for ways in which ANR can address food safety issues more effectively.
