A Multi-Disciplinary Instructional Unit for 6th Graders

A collaboration between Adopt-A-Watershed and The University of California Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Program

Salmon and steelhead were once abundant throughout many of California’s rivers and streams. Today, though their numbers are reduced, they are still a vital part of our state’s ecosystems and are an important indicator of water quality and watershed health.

Through the activities in this unit, participants will explore relationships between the people and the salmon and steelhead that live, or onced lived, within their community’s watershed.
