About Shafter REC
The Shafter Research and Extension Center (SREC) is the University of California's principal field research facility for cotton and serves as a good example of cooperation between the University of California (UC), federal and local government, and the cotton industry in the San Joaquin Valley.

Ag Futures 2009
The annual Ag Futures Conference introduces outstanding high school students, who have an agricultural background and interest, to current research and educational activities being conducted by the University of California. The summer internship program provides students the opportunity to study with researchers from the UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources and USDA - Agricultural Research Service. Program information and application are now available.
