Great site; lots of useful tips. I have one question: that first freeze damaged my jade plants, toubochina, my gorgeous fuschia as well as my morning glory vine...they all look like they were hit by a blow torch.Must I wait until spring to prune them and should I feed them with fertilizer right now to help them along?

There has been alot of talk lately on the safety or just good practice of urinating on your compost pile. I have done some research on this subject and there are lots of opinions and some safety issues. I would like to know the partyline word form the UC Master Gardeners and Master Composters.

Im a CA MG and have a FB fan page and website through which I field hundreds of questions from "fans" nationally. I only refer them to MG/Coop Ext sites all over the country and have seen all of them. I am proud to say that California has the most well-developed and usable sites in the nation. Ive just posted your link on my FB HGEL fan page and will also do so on my website. Good work UCCE!

I think this site needs a "search" function added to it.

Hi Patrica:  Yes, I agree.  It would make things easier for many folks.  I will see what I can do to have that function added.  Thanks so much for your input.

This is a wonderful resource site that is very user friendly and addresses our most common questions in a concise and easy to understand manner. A great review and resource for questions coming in to the MG hotlines. If anything to be added, I would say some pix or photos.

I would love to see a California version of this citizen science home garden varietal ratings with a heavier sorting emphasis on growth zones: website is vegvariety.cce.cornell.edu . Any possibility? Are there any similar for local regions, clubs, etc. in California?

Perusing my way from "gardening basics" through "poisonous plants" I find a wealth of information that I can use as well as pass along to Hotline callers.

Good job. Thanks. MG Mr Mort
