Provide a mechanism and funding for professional development opportunities and training for County Directors.
Options:
Communicate and encourage County Directors to take advantage of university-wide training in leadership and administrative matters.

Funding must be provided that enables CDs to receive training and experience to assist them in being successful in a role they did not necessarily hire for! We need to think out of box and envision our organization as a business. |

Funding professional development needs to be made available through the Regional offices. There are no other resources available. Training opportunities need to be made available within the University as well as through other resources. |

I think this is a very important area. Most often, County Directors find themselves in the position with little training to face the responsibilities. In the last two years, several excellent trainings have been offered. These should be continued and the CDs should certainly be encouraged to attend. |
