Fred Hoffman, a broadcast professional with over 30 years of radio experience in the Sacramento area, has hosted more than 1,000 garden-related radio talk shows. Currently he hosts the "KFBK Garden Show" on 1530 KFBK and "Get Growing" on 650 KSTE. Every Sunday morning, "Farmer Fred" interviews gardening experts and tackles call-in gardening questions and problems with knowledge and humor. He has appeared in garden segments on national and local TV programs, and writes a weekly gardening column for the Lodi News Sentinel. Mr. Hoffman is a UC Cooperative Extension Sacramento County Lifetime Master Gardener. He and his wife Jean are yard servants to their 10 acres in southern Sacramento County. Lance Walheim has been gardening most of his life. He has authored or contributed to more than 40 gardening books, was a staff editor for Sunset magazine and currently contributes as a free-lance writer. He has served as contributing editor to the last four editions of the Sunset Western Garden Book, including the new 2007 edition. Mr. Walheim has a special interest in roses, and has written or contributed to four books on roses including The Natural Rose Gardener and Roses for Dummies. He co-owns California Citrus Specialties, a grower and marketer of unusual citrus varieties, and grows some 30 different types on his ranch in Exeter. Robert Kourik, a landscape designer and consultant who specializes in ornamental, environmental and edible landscapes, has been working and gardening in Northern California for more than 30 years. Mr. Kourik has authored or co-authored numerous books on subjects ranging from drip irrigation and use of gray-water in landscapes to designing and maintain-ing edible gardens. He has also written more than 100 magazine and newspaper articles. His garden designs and writings focus primarily on organic, natural and sustainable gardening, and appropriate horticultural methods. Mr. Kourik lives and gardens in Occidental.




Rosalind Creasy has been designing, photographing, and writing about gardens for more than 30 years. Since 1982, when her first book, The Complete Book of Edible Landscaping, appeared, Ms. Creasy has played a leading role in changing American attitudes about what is "proper" to grow in home gardens. She is a landscape designer who specializes in residential landscapes that include edible, native, and drought-tolerant plants. She promotes environment-friendly gardening techniques, is a popular lecturer and widely-published garden writer with more than 15 books and countless magazine and newspaper articles to her credit. Ms. Creasy lives in Los Altos.
