Herb Garden July 2004

History

The entrance herb garden is located at the entrance to the orchard between the water efficient garden and the orchard gate.  The entrance herb garden was created in April 2003 and contains  culinary herbs used in the past and present.  There is also a Lavender Thyme Garden located by the orchard gate.  The purpose of this garden is to demonstrate the different types of lavender and how to prune them properly.

In the vegetable trial area, a row of basil has been planted each summer since 2004.  This is a demonstration of the different varieties of basil available and how to grow basil to have an abundant harvest through the summer.
