Sacramento County Master Gardeners at the Fair Oaks Horticulture Center show how you can plant and care for ornamental and edible plants in an environmentally friendly way.  Attend workshops to learn how.

Visit on Open Garden days and go at your own pace through out the water-efficient landscape gardens and the orchard, vineyard, berry and vegetable areas.  Watch demonstrations.  Ask us about problems in your garden and we'll give you answers and advice.

  • Workshops last 2 1/2 to 3 hours
  • Fair Oaks Horticulture Center is in Fair Oaks Park

Victory Garden 2009

vg poster no logo

Our Victory Garden 2009 workshop series expands the Victory Garden concepts that were so successful during WW I and WW II.  You can reduce food cost and ensure fresh, healthy and tasty food by growing your own fruit and vegetables.  In addition, concern about the environment and our water supply increases the need for more water efficient landscapes.  Attend these workshops to learn how to plan your garden, prepare the soil, and plant, tend and harvest the fruits of your labor while using less water and fewer chemicals.  Savor home grown!
