Who are the Master Gardeners?

Farmers Markets
UCCE Master Gardener Volunteers are University trained local gardeners who received 60 hours of classroom instruction and attend monthly educational seminars. They donate time extending research based information to local gardeners. Master Gardeners staff an information desk in the University of California Cooperative Extension office, where they answer questions, diagnose plant problems, and give horticultural advice.

Help Desk
Master Gardeners also disperse information through public meetings, workshops, farmers' markets, and through talks and demonstrations to groups. Master Gardener Volunteers are resources to community gardening projects.
