Welcome to the Get Growing! Gardening for Everyone Information Page. Just in time for Spring, the Napa County Master Gardeners are presenting our all day fantastic garden education festival! Whether you are just getting started with gardening, want to make your garden a place the whole family can enjoy, or want to learn more about gardening in an environmentally-friendly way, we have something for you.
Get Growing! will take place on March 29, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Napa Valley College, in Napa. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. We have 12 classes in English and 4 classes in Spanish with plenty of time to ask questions and a special series of classes in Spanish for professional landscape workers (3 CE hours credit pending). The classes are grouped into three “tracks”: Beginning/Easy Gardening, Sustainable Gardening, and Family Gardening. The class topics are shown below.
Get Growing! includes hands-on demonstrations, walk-through displays, and an all-day help-desk to answer specific gardening questions, as well as a landscape question and answer area. The list of demonstrations and displays is provided below. There will also be exhibitors from related community organizations, such as Napa County Recycling, Napa City Water Conservation Department, Napa- Solano Audubon, and Friends of Napa River and lots of free published information. There will be time between classes to see displays or visit our Resource Room for screenings of our monthly TV show, and to pick up valuable handouts, and demonstrations on how to find valuable gardening information on the internet.
Registration is free. You can register on-line, in person in our office, or by requesting a registration form to be e-mailed or mailed to you (please call our information line to request a form by mail).
Come join us for a fantastic day celebrating gardening, and learn more about gardening than you ever thought you would!
