Greenhouses
The Center's 950-square foot greenhouse is equipped with a double row of seven, slatted, free-draining, metal benches. There is also a mist bench present. The greenhouse can both be heated (steam) and cooled (evaporative). There is an adjacent potting room with sinks and storage space. There is a large deionizing column available for nutrient studies. Also in the greenhouse area is a bank of 72 free-draining lysimeters.
Each lysimeter tank is a steel drum buried so the top is at soil level and is plumbed at the bottom to allow free drainage. They are 0.114 m2 in area and 0.63 m deep.
