SHEEPDOG TRAINING CLINIC
WITH
ELLEN SKILLINGS
December 8, 2008
Ellen Skillings has been working with Border collies and livestock for almost 25 years. She is currently cow boss for Robert A. Byrne Company, a large range cow/calf operation on the high desert in Tulelake, California where she uses Border collies on a daily basis. She has spent many years shepherding with dogs as well. Ellen has been successfully competing in sheep dog trials at a national level since 1994. She is the 2007 Western States Regional Champion, and has won and placed at many major trials throughout the United States and Canada. Her work as a handler, trainer, judge and clinician is deeply informed by the desire to see the increased and improved use of dogs for practical stock work.
This clinic will be limited to 15 dogs. There are 25 spectator slots.
This clinic will be geared to hands on experience for novice handlers and beginning dogs and will focus on the basics for both dog and handler for a successful working relationship.
