Site Builder Instructions

Main Navigation Menu

The Edit Main Navigation Links page allows you to organize your left-hand navigation menu, add or remove navigation items, and turn off other automatic links on your Web site.

Any changes to your Navigation Menu will require your site to be completely republished before the changes appear.

Organizing the Navigation Order

Your navigation items will appear with sort arrows so that you may easily move them up and down on the menu. Linked items in your navigation are system items, and clicking on the link will take you directly to that section of Site Builder.

System items can also be removed from your navigation menu and retain in an inactive capacity. Navigation items created by you will have edit and delete options instead.

Add a New Navigation Item

Click on the "Add New Main Menu Link" button in the right column of the Web Site Main Menu page. You will go to a new screen that has the following options:

Main Menu Category Name: Enter the name you wish to see on the navigation button.

Open in: You can open in a new browser window or the current one. You may want to open a new browser window if the navigation item is directed to a different Web site than yours.

Main Menu Category URL: You can either place an address for a specific page or use Site Builder's page codes (see File Codes and File Types).

Main Navigation Menu Options

Site Builder automatically creates links and a search box on your site. These items can be turned off in the Main Navigation Menu Options. County sites also will see an option to select the style of the automatic links page. Links can be displayed either with graphic icons or as a list.
