UC plant scientists have established critical values for determination of nutrient status in almond and pistachio. However, there is concern these and other guidelines to manage fertilization may be outdated or underutilized.
The goals of this project are to survey current practices and concerns in almond and pistachio nutrition, collate existing information and management practices, and design a new research and extension initiative to increase efficiency of fertilzer usage and guide future nutrition research and education programs.
