The UC Statewide IPM Program and the Statewide Master Gardener Program are teaming up to offer one-day regional IPM workshops. Topics will include pest identification, ant management, using the UC IPM web site to solve pest problems, and sustainable gardening practices. Participants will receive the new Landscape Pest Identification cards!
Another regional IPM workshop is planned for 2009:
Riverside-- Nov. 6, 2009

Central Valley
Advanced IPM Training for Master Gardeners
Date: Thursday, December 10, 2009
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Place: UC Center, Fresno (directions)
Cost: $35.00 (lunch included)
Workshop activities will be hands-on and participants will be in small breakout groups (including a computer lab session). Participants must be comfortable using computers and the internet. After the workshop, attendees should be prepared to take materials and information back to their counties to train other Master Gardeners in their program.
All participants will receive a set of the new Landscape Pest Identification cards!!!
Space for this course is limited. In order to benefit as many UC Master Gardener programs as possible, attendance will be limited to the first 7 people who sign up from each county Master Gardener program. Each person planning to attend must individually complete the pre-registration form. The first 7 from each county to pre-register will be sent a final registration survey within a week. When you receive the second survey, you must pay the fee (by credit card only) by the next deadline.
Deadline to reserve your seat is November 6th. Once 7 people from each county have pre-registered, any additional sign-ups will be placed on a wait list. After November 6th, wait-listed people will be contacted and allowed to register (in order of when their request was received) on a space-available basis. We will be contacting everyone by e-mail, so be sure you check your e-mail frequently after you pre-register to find out your status and other updates.
Pre-Register now!
We look forward to meeting you at the workshop!
