The deadline is Friday, January 30 , 2009 for award nominations presented at the 93rd Annual Meeting of the Pacific Branch of the Entomological Society of America on March 29-April 1, 2009, at the Bahia Resort Hotel in San Diego, CA. Please visit the National ESA award website for updates on 2009 awards at http://www.entsoc.org/awards/whats_available.htm. Briefs based on branch awards and 2009 national awards are detailed in the three subpages under Awards Canvassing (see tabs in left column) to help you get started. Please read the information carefully as there have been some slight changes from previous years requirements. For more complete details use the national ESA web site for each award http://www.entsoc.org/awards/schedule.htm. Please share this information with the students and members of your department.
All award nominations must be submitted electronically via e-mail in one complete file for each nomination packet including letters of support, CV's and other supporting materials! A nomination package should not exceed 3 MB. Only files submitted in Adobe PFD formats and JPG files will be accepted. Supporting image files should be embedded into the document files, and should be of sufficient resolution to allow them to be read. Many of the award nomination packets are page-limited. Please review the specific information for the award you are submitting at the appropriate national ESA awards website. Pacific Branch nominations will be submitted to national ESA by PB ESA awards canvassing chair. Follow the instructions for each award on the national ESA website when submitting the nomination to the Pacific Branch. Paper nominations will no longer be accepted—this is a National ESA rule.
The Pacific Branch selections for national award competition will also be recognized by the Branch with a plaque during the awards luncheon at the San Diego meeting in March/April 2009.
