Ventura County Master Gardeners 

Typical Master Gardener Activities

The Master Gardener program enables the University of California Cooperative Extension to share its extensive gardening resources and knowledge more efficiently with Ventura County residents. 

  • Helping at Faulkner Farm’s farm tours and school visits  
  • Maintaining Master Gardeners' demonstration and theme gardens 
  • Restoring historic gardens
  • Assisting botanical gardens
  • Answering gardeners’ questions
  • Staffing Master Gardener helpline
  • Giving gardening talks and presentations
  • Supporting applied research projects for UCCE advisors
  • Providing “plants to people” horticultural therapy
  • Participating in Ventura Home and Garden Show
  • Supporting the Ventura County Fair

There are a few services we can’t provide, unfortunately.  We don’t make home visits, for instance, so we can’t come over to design or install your home garden or make on-site diagnoses.  However, when it involves gardening, we’re often involved in some way, so, when in doubt, contact us.  Even if we can’t help personally, maybe we can suggest other organizations that may be helpful.
