SAFE (Sustainable And Fire-SafE) Landscapes provides guidelines for creating and maintaining fire-safe, environmentally friendly landscapes in the wildland-urban interface. This project is a collaboration between University of California Cooperative Extension – Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, the Los Angeles and San Gabriel Rivers Watershed Council, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Ventura County Fire Department, the National Park Service, and numerous governmental, non-profit, and business organizations. Development of this site was supported by the Renewable Resources Extension Act, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Community Foundation, and the California Department of Conservation.
