This project seeks to address the major deficiencies in landscape horticulture research, extension and utilization in California.
Three major clientele components of the landscape industry have received or utilized little or no UC research-based information. The landscape workgroup seeks to find out why adoption is so low and how to succeed in improving use of new research results that have important impacts on the landscape.
In addition, this project seeks to address and remedy the deficiencies in research, extension, and utilization of science based information by the California landscape industry by developing a more aggressive outreach campaign. The workgroup will work with a survey/evaluation science organization to determine the reasons specific practices are not used in the industry in order to develop effective educational programs to gain adoption.
