Research Grant Program
Purpose
The primary goal of this program is to assure the economic viability of agriculture in Ventura County (Hansen Goal #1). Proposals may be submitted in the areas of production, pest management, harvesting, marketing, and other areas focused on maintaining the profitability of Ventura County agriculture while sustaining the natural resource base. Priority funding will be given to projects that address issues of current concern to Ventura County growers. It is not necessary for the project to be conducted within the County, but it should be evident that the project addresses relevant needs of Ventura County.
Who May Apply
Any individual or group is eligible and encouraged to apply for funding. This includes growers; researchers and educators; federal, state and local public agencies; nonprofit organizations; consultants; resource conservation districts; commodity research boards; grower organizations and other interested parties. See 2010 Request for Proposals for more information.
