Restricted Use Materials : Many rodenticides are considered a restricted use material; these include such materials as zinc phosphide, aluminum phosphide and acrolein.

Record-keeping of rodenticide use: When using rodenticides for agricultural use, restricted use, industrial use as post-harvest commodity treatment, outdoor institutional or industrial use, a pesticide use record is necessary and must be kept for at least 2 years and made available to DPR or local agricultural commissioner upon request. 
They must include :
- Date of application
- Name of operator
- Location
- Crop commodity or site treated
- Total acreage or units treated
- Rodenticide (including EPA or state registration number)
- Amount used
