Relocation is an unlikely method for California ground squirrel control. Because it is a pest species, California Fish and Game laws stipulate that you cannot release ground squirrels elsewhere without a permit;  as ground squirrels are considered a pest species in California, a permit is unlikley to be approved for relocation.
