HOW THEY WORK:
Modified box-type trap for squirrels.
- Box and tunnel traps essentially work the same. Bait is placed in the trap so that when they touch it the trigger releases, killing the squirrel instantly.

HOW TO USE IT:
1. Place traps near burrows or in runways, but not directly in front of burrows. Ground squirrels forage for

good and will be more likely to enter them if they are set several feet from the burrow entrance. Be sure to secure trap to the ground or other solid object to prevent scavengers from carrying them off. 2. Prebait but do not set the traps with the same bait you will use when trapping. This will increase the effectiveness of the traps. Bait must be at least as attractive as what they are currently feeding on. Good baits are walnuts, almonds, slices of orange, pieces of melon, wheat, oats, and barley. (Oats are about 28 cents per pound.)
3. After 2-3 days, re-bait and set traps.
4. Check traps twice daily to remove carcasses. Dispose of carcasses properly.
5. Release the trigger in the evening to avoid killing nocturnal animals.

SAFETY:
- This control method is non-toxic. However, you should be especially careful with the traps because they are very strong and can severly injure extremities (fingers, hands, etc.)
