Balancing Wildlife Needs, Forest Health and Fire Hazard Reduction in Mixed Conifer Forests

*Please note that there is a possibility that a prescribed burn may take place during October 16's workshop, so smoke may be an issue.

Participate in one of these workshops designed for landowners, Fire Safe Councils, resource agencies and the general public in Placer, Nevada & El Dorado Counties.

Registration:  Register early - space is limited to 30 registrant per workshop. Pre-registration is required.  In order to participate, you must complete and sign a Waiver of Liability form.  Please send it with your payment (instructions are given during the registration process).

Cost:  $15 fee includes refreshments, lunch and materials

Background:  Land owners and agencies involved in managing forest stands to improve forest health and reduce fire hazard  need to acknowledge potential impacts on wildlife and their habitats. In this workshop, participants will be provided with basic information on wildlife habitat requirements and how to maintain habitat values while improving forest health and reducing fire hazard. This workshop and field trip will help forest landowners and others involved in forest management to design and implement practices that balance wildlife needs, forest health and fire hazard reduction.
