This workshop is intended for present and future owners and managers of forest or woodland properties in Sonoma County. The workshop will have an indoor session in the morning and field tour in the afternoon. It will be held near Glen Ellen and will focus on forest and watershed health. Foresters, a plant pathologist, and watershed and fuels management specialists will present information on the ecology and historical development of the region’s forests and discuss threats to forest and watershed health, including wildfire, Sudden Oak Death, and excessive erosion. Agency representatives will describe programs available to land owners. Tools for long-term land conservation will also be introduced.
