Turf

There are an estimated 4 million acres of residential, commercial, institutional, and sports turf in California. Much of this acreage is as intensively managed as any fruit or vegetable crop. California's climate permits the use of both warm and cool season grasses which differ greatly in their cultural requirements. Turfgrass managers look to UC Turfgrass workgroup members for the latest information on cultivar selection and management practices to address such issues as reduced pesticide use and maintenance budgets and the use of recycled irrigation water.
EHRIC has archived on its Web site all issues of the publication California Turfgrass Culture dating from 1951-present. This searchable archive enhances information retrieval by UC researchers and the general public.
