This session will be divided into two 45-minute sections. The first will focus on developing impact portfolios and the second will focus on marketing tools.

Purpose: To help CE County Directors learn more about program evaluation, impact portfolios, and marketing and design basics.
Outcome: Help county directors develop a system for program evaluation, build impact portfolios, and develop effective marketing pieces to increase visiblity and better tell the CE story.
Background: In an era of budget constraints and increased expectations the information we convey and the messages we communicate to our decision-makers and constituents are more important than ever. Assessing programs, building impact portfolios, and crafting creative messages for multiple audiences are ways in which county-based Cooperative Extension can evaluate and promote their work and enhance their marketing efforts.
Approach: Do you wonder how you might assess your programs, build an impacts portfolio, or ensure that your marketing efforts are paying off? To help answer those questions, this session will highlight the experience of two
Attendees will have an opportunity to learn the process and outcome of developing a system for program evaluation and for building an impacts portfolio. We will use examples of what has worked and why, and discuss potential obstacles and ways to work with or maneuver around them.
Attendees will also be able to have their county marketing pieces evaluated. We'll look at annual reports, websites, and marketing flyers. You'll learn the basics of good design, tips for writing to specific audiences, and how to tweak content so it can serve multiple purposes.
Time will be allowed for questions and discussion.
Participants who want their marketing pieces evaluated should send three samples of each piece no later than April 8 to Cynthia Kintigh, ANR Communication Services,
