Featured conference presenters include:
Dan Dooley - Attorney, Farmer & Chair of the UC President's Advisory Council on Agriculture and Natural Resources - speaking on what the future holds for animal agriculture in California.
Alison Van Eenennaam, Joint AES scientist/CE specialist, Animal Science Dept., UCD-CAES; John Harper, CE County Director/Advisor, Mendocino County/North Coast & Mountain CE Region; and Robert BonDurant, Chair & Professor of Population Health & Reproduction, UCD-SVM describe their experiences in projects involving work across the AES/CE continuum.
Elizabeth Mitloehner - offering insights and proven techniques to increase the likelihood of your grants getting funded.
Jess Phalen - UC Davis Office of Research - sharing ideas on grant opportunities for Animal & Veterinary Sciences in California.
Lanny J. Lund, former ANR Assistant Vice President - Programs presenting an overview of ANR funding opportunities including ANR's Core Issue Grants program and potential changes in Federal formula funding of land grant institution research/extension activities.

Animal Agriculture Conference highlights:
"Where have we been and where are we now?" - A retrospective look at AES and CE in California and the land-grant mission & a snapshot of where we are now with changing demographics and public policy, dwindling FTEs, pressing environmental challenges.
"What does the future hold?" - Issues and opportunities in animal agriculture. Looking ahead 10-20 years -- what demographic, environmental, social and policy forces will influence research and extension programs in animal agriculture?
Successes across the AES/CE continuum - examples of effective interactions among campus- and county-based ANR academics in response to critical problems. Examples will come from research and extension work of current AES scientist, CE specialist and CE advisor.
Interest area and other small group dialogue about critical issues and future opportunities for collaboration in research and extension programming.
"Show me the money!" - Explore funding issues, trends and opportunities.
