Proposition 84: Grants available!!!!!
What is Prop. 84? In November 2006: California voters passed Proposition 84, the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply Flood Control, River and Coast Protection Bond Act of 2006 (the Act). Authorizes State to issue bonds and the Legislature to appropriate bond proceeds for the protection and restoration of rivers, lakes and streams, their watersheds and associated land, water and other natural resources.
Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC): Prop. 84 allocated $54 million to SNC to fund projects. To apply for a grant via SNC Proposition 84 Grants Program, please visit website:
Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB): Under Prop. 84, WCB received $5 million in bond funds to work directly with farmers and other agricultural landowners to enhance habitat consistent with agricultural operations. The WCB seeks to “collaborate with the agricultural community in identifying and implementing projects that provide long-term habitat benefits for wildlife, consistent with landowner objectives, including economic sustainability, and have the potential for replication on a statewide basis.” If you are interested in applying for a grant, please visit website:
