The Upper Feather River Watershed (UFRW) Irrigated Lands Prop. 50 Project was developed in cooperation and with the support of locals who wanted to be proactive in addressing the California State Regional Quality Control Board Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program (ILRP). In addition, to benefit local landowners to help reduce water monitoring costs & learn more about the impacts of local irrigated agriculture on water quailty.

Sierra Valley - Summer 2007
Project objectives:
-Interact with local agriculture landowners
-Compile info on UFRW irrigated ag. practices
-Monitor ambient water quality, 'bracketing agriculture' in
4 major valleys (Phase I - years 1, 2, 3)
-Demonstrate implementation of effective management
practices to mitigate concerns on-ranch in each valley
(Phase II - years 2, 3)
Goodrich Creek - 2006
-Assist in developing individual ranch plans
American Valley - 2006 Sandhill Cranes
-Ongoing education and outreach component
