The popular University of California Management Skills Assessment Program, also known as "MSAP" is back!  The intensive residential program is being held at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, April 25 - 29, 2005.

Throughout the program, participants will experience several simulated management scenario exercises, give and receive objective behavioral feedback, discuss their own strengths and areas for growth, and begin a plan for enhancing management skills in their careers at UC.

MSAP is intended to benefit those desiring to enter or expand their role in management, including entry-level to mid-level managers. In addition to the program held at Asilomar, there will be pre- and post-program sessions and an opportunity to begin an individual plan of action for career development at UC.

MSAP is looking for Assessees and Assessors. 

Assessees:

This program is best suited for high-potential individuals who learn through a variety of experiences, including case studies, discussion and reflection, small-group activities and extensive feedback.  Highest priority will be given to individuals with 1 to 5 years of experience supervising or managing people or projects.  Supervisor support is essential to the success of MSAP. Three employees from UCOP will be selected to attend MSAP.

Criteria for assessees:

•One or more years of service at UC (completed probationary period & in Career status)
•One to five years in current job
•One to five years supervising
•Experience leading projects

Assessors:

Assessors are expected to be senior managers who meet most of these criteria:

•Coaching experience
•Employee development experience
•Experience leading or working with groups
•At least one year at UC

The cost of the program to each assessee's department is an $850 registration fee, plus transportation.  There is no registration fee for assessors.
