There are a number of different programs providing leadership and management skill development opportunities for ANR members:

LEAD 21
This program, designated “Leadership Development for the 21st Century (LEAD 21): Linking Research, Academics, and Extension”, is intended to meet the future needs for leadership development of faculty, specialists, program and team leaders, research station and center directors, district and regional directors, department heads and chairs, and others in land-grant institutions throughout the United States.

UCOP Business Officer Institute - June 2008
The University of California Office of the President (UCOP) annually offers the Business Officers Institute (BOI) -- a high impact program for senior executives from campuses and central offices addressing important issues, including budget and finance, audit and internal controls, technology, ethics, sponsored research, risk assessment and human resource management.

Western Extension Leadership Development Program
WELD is designed for Cooperative Extension agents, advisors, educators and specialists in the Western United States and Territories. Contact Central Valley CE Regional Director Linda Marie Manton for more information.

Western Region Extension Middle Managers Conference
CE professionals with administrative responsibilities as district or associate directors typically participate in this conference offering regional educational seminars addressing current topics affecting middle management extension personnel.

JCEP Programs
JCEP - Joint Council of Extension Professionals is a partnership of professional Extension organizations that focuses on strengthening the efforts of the member organizations and does what each cannot do individually. JCEP was organized in December 1989.

JCEP is composed of the president, past-president and president-elect of the member organizations and a representative of the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) and the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service--U.S. Department of Agriculture (CSREES).
