I am dating myself by utilizing this book as my chosen review. However I have found it to be one those "keepers" that always has its place on the shelf and is never lent out. See You At Top Top was orgionaly published as Biscuits, Fleas and Pump Handles. My copy is a twenty fourth edition from March of 1981 and cost $10.95. As you can tell from the above web site it is now in its fifty seventh printing.
The main focus of this book is to build ones self esteem, a major leadership attribute in my opinion. The text is designed to take an individual through a six step motivational process to succeed, better defined by Ziglar as the "Stairway to the Top". This Stairway process as defined in Chapter One is to develop ones leadership in relation to a set of stairs or a staircase with success being at the top. Thus each chapter of the book builds on, or is the next step up. The following are the chapters or steps as outlined and discussed by Ziglar.
Step 1: Your Self Image
Step 2: Your Relationship With Others.
Step 3: Your Goals
Step 4: Attitude
Step 5: Work
Step 6: Desire
The six step process is utilized to coincide with the foundation of character, faith, integrity, love, and loyalty to help balance and understand the wants and needs related to Health, Wealth, Happiness, Friends, Growth, Peace, Security, Leisure, Freedom, and Opportunity.
Within the context of the book Ziglar uses over "800 analogies, examples, one liners, power phrases, human interest stories, and humorous incidents" to convey his message. I find that his addition of this information in lay men terms adds to the readability of the book as well as driving home those important Step messages. For those of you into motivation this book is a must have. I would be interested to hear the opinions of others that have read and used this resource.
I Believe You can get everything in life you want if you help enough other people get what they want.
