Orientation Conference Goals:

  • Build sense of involvement and commitment to UC's land-grant mission, public service, and the value of a vital research-extension continuum in solving serious California problems in agriculture, human and natural resources.
  • Build connections and cooperative associations among campus AES/CE and county-based CE members working across all program areas and units.
  • Increase understanding of our statewide organizational structure and mechanisms for promoting collaboration and joint research and extension programming.
  • Improve professional and organizational competencies for AES and CE members in useful communication, funding/grants development, interpersonal, program planning and team development knowledge and skills.
  • Begin to build commitment to on-going professional and leadership development for AES and CE members.
  • Express appreciation and recognition of the value and importance of the excellence of our team of campus and county-based AES and CE research and extension academics.
