Step Two—Make a copy
This is so important, we've devoted an entire page to it.
Just in case... In almost all cases, the image you first acquire will need to be adjusted for its first use. The cropping, brightness, contrast, file size and type often need adjustment for every image you encounter. We recommend making a copy of every file you plan to use or adjust, keeping the original unchanged. Save copies with a different name, preferably in a different place (folder, hard drive, disk, CD, etc.)
