UC ANR Leadership Development: The Need, Strategy and Action Needed

June 2005

ANR Associate Vice President Rick Standiford recently re-activated a Division wide Leadership Development Oversight Committee to guide development of a statewide ANR leadership development campaign for ANR academics and other key leaders. The Associate Vice President has committed resources needed for the committee to:

  • Plan, conduct & evaluate an orientation program for new ANR academics.
  • Develop & implement a systemwide strategy to identify and support individuals to take on County Director assignments.
  • Begin to create a culture of leadership in ANR and implement a Division-wide leadership development program.

The leadership development philosophy, strategy and plan outlined by the LDOC and is summarized at ANR Leadership Development Program.
