Before Migration

The steps below outline what you need to do before we visit your office. If you prefer step-by-step instructions with pictures, follow the links in the sub-page menu on the left.

  1. To determine the Operating System of your PC:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click My Computer.
    3. Click Properties.
    4. The Operating System you are using will be displayed.
  2. If you DON'T KNOW or ARE NOT SURE OF your UC Davis Login ID and Kerberow password (skip to step 3 if you DO know your Login ID and Kerberos password):
    1. Your UC Davis Login ID and Kerberos password are usually the same as your email ID and email password. If you aren't sure you know them, go to https://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu .
    2. Select Test Your Password and follow the instructions.
    3. If you have the correct password, you will see a message that reads "The password you entered is correct."

  3. Add IMAD and ADSP service permits:
    1. Go to https://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu , or click Main Menu if you have logged in already.
    2. Select the Add or remove account services option, and click Begin.
    3. Fill in the information requested and click Submit Information.
    4. Select Add services to your account, and click Continue.
    5. Enter your Login ID and click Continue.
    6. This page will show you which services you already have and which services you are eligible to add. You need to have both IMAD and ADSP associated with your account. Select IMAD and click Grant Service ID.
    7. Since you can only add one service at a time, you will need to click on Main Menu again and go through the same steps to add the other service, ADSP. This time, select ADSP and click Grant Service ID.
  4. Run a virus scan on your computer:
    1. Right-click on the Sophos Icon in the system tray, and click Open Sophos Anti-Virus.
    2. Click Scan my computer to start the scan.
  5. Change your Kerberos password:
    1. Go to https://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu This link will launch a new window., or click Main Menu if you have logged in already.
    2. Select the Change your password option, and click Begin.
    3. Fill in the information requested and click Submit information.
    4. Enter your Login ID and click Continue.
    5. By default, all of the check boxes are checked on this page. Click Continue. Do not uncheck any of the checkboxes, or you will have multiple passwords to remember.
    6. Follow the instructions on change your password.
